Died: February 11, 1912 in Jersey City, Hudson Co., New Jersey
From 1884-1892 (with a few years off), Jimmy Knowles played for the
following teams:
Pittsburgh Alleghenys, Brooklyn Athletics,
Washington Nationals, New York Metropolitans, Rochester
Broncos, New York Giants.
Jimmy was never on a winning team. Only the 1890 Broncos were
63-63. He was an infielder, playing all First, Second, Third
bases and even Short Stop. He posted a career batting average of
.241.

Darold was a pitcher the
following Teams:
Baltimore Orioles, Philadelphia Phillies,
Washington Senators, Oakland Athletics, Chicago Cubs, Montreal
Expos, St. Louis Cardinals.
In 1969, Darold made the American
League All-Star Team as a Senator. He was also a member of the
1973 World Series Champions, the Oakland Athletics. In that
series, he was credited with saves in Games 1 and 7 against the New
York Mets. In that same series, Darold becomes the first (and
so far, only) pitcher to appear in every game of a seven-game World
Series. For his career, he went 66-71, with a 3.12 ERA.

Dickie was a pitcher whose career
overlapped Darold Knowles' by a few months. Dickie played for
the following teams:
Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, Texas
Rangers, Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers, Baltimore Orioles.
In 1980, Dickie pitched in Game 4 of
the World Series against the Kansas City Royals. The Phillies
lost that game, but went on to win the Series. For his career,
he went 36-53, with a 4.56 ERA.
