Dr. Bob G. Noles of Collierville, Tenn., died late Tuesday, April 19, 2005. Dr. Noles was born in Paducah, Ky., on Aug. 1, 1930, and was the only child of the late Carmen Ercell Noles and Ann Elaine Noles, and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Noah Nelson Noles, all of Paducah. He continued his studies at several institutes of higher learning and attained a doctorate of engineering degree. Dr. Noles was an entrepreneur and philanthropist. One of Dr. Noles' favorite experiences was his role as Santa Claus is Guatemala when he delivered presents to the children of the Guatemalan Tree Natives from the wing of an airborne plane.

Dr. Noles was a veteran and served in the military during the time of the Korean War.

Dr. Noles is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Sue Nan Feagin Noles; two daughters, Carmen Ann Noles Mattox of Greenwood, Miss., and Gwendolyn Noles of Port Arthur, Texas; two grandsons, James FitzGibbons Mattox of Greenwood and Robert Noles Mattox of Pensacola, Fla.; and one great-grandson, Brenton M.
