The business meeting of the Knowles Association was held on Friday, 21 June 1996 at the Fairgrounds in Princeton, Gibson County, Indiana.
The meeting was called to order by President Murl C. Knowles of Lilburn, Georgia. The regular business of the Association was conducted and the election of new officers. Elected to serve as President, Jolene Abraham, California; Vice President, Linda Gant, Texas; Secretary, Betty Knowles, Texas; Treasurer, Russell J. Knowles, Florida. The location selected for the 1998 Reunion was Houston, Texas.

Every one gathered at the Fairground in Princeton, Gibson County, Indiana on Saturday 22 June 1996. There were 150 in attendance. The oldest in attendance was Thyra Marvel Mauck, 88 years young; and the youngest was Tyler Joseph Coffman, 3 years old, of Owensville, Indiana. S. Stanley Knowles of San Anselmo, California traveled the furthest. 21 states were represented.
