The Early Knowles Report (a 48 page report in PDF format) is a listing of our early KNOWLES ancestors (including various spellings of the Knowles surname).  These ancestors have been identified as living (or visiting) in Colonial America or in the United States during the early years (pre 1800).   This listing is intended to assist  the Knowles researcher in finding an early ancestor from research already performed.  This listing has been developed by using various publications and original documents that have recorded some activity or transaction conducted by the early Knowles residents of the New World.  The Early Knowles Report is far from complete, but will be expanded as new information becomes available.

The Early Knowles Report was initiated by Joan G. Knowles from her extensive Knowles research efforts. This report was recently expanded and is being maintained by Robert B. Noles.  If you have any suggested additions and/or corrections to this report, please notify Robert B. Noles.
