FUNDING
CONTRIBUTIONS
The
FTDNA General Fund
FTDNA recently launched the Surname Project
General Fund. The FUND was created as a tool to be administered by Family Tree
DNA and the Surname Project Manager (Robert B. Noles for the Knowles Surname
Project). The General Fund is a way for anyone to make contributions directly to
the Knowles Surname Project (instead of to the KKNFA or to Project Manager).
Contributions are requested to help pay for tests for potential participants for
the Knowles Surname Project. There are potential candidates for the Knowles
Surname Project who are not in a position to pay the total cost of their test.
Everyone benefits, when more men participate.
The FTDNA General Fund has been set up like
a bank account to help pay for the FTDNA tests. The URL for the FTDNA General
Fund is:
www.familytreedna.com/contribution.html
The guidelines for using the General Fund
are as follows:
Family
Tree DNA collects/disburses the money and keeps a log under the General Fund
The
Group Administrator (that's me) tells FTDNA to which kit we should apply
funds.
FTDNA
has created a self-explanatory page to be used by those who want to make a
contribution to their family DNA project
Making a Contribution to
the FTDNA General Fund
If you would like to make a contribution to
the Knowles Surname Project General Fund, there are three ways to do it
Credit
Card,
PayPal,
Mail
Credit Card or PayPal
- While Family Tree DNA can receive credit card payments through its own
secure server, they know that some individuals have an account with Paypal to
make Internet payments. Either way is secure and converts any currency to
US Dollars, in case the payment is made from anywhere in the world. When
you visit
www.FTDNA.com/contribution.html
you will be directed to a secure page where you need to fill in the Surname
Project that you are making the contribution, and the amount. Once Family
Tree DNA receives the money, the funds will be allocated to the Surname Project
of your choice, and the Project Manager will be so notified. Your
contribution can be made to any Surname Project.
Please consider helping the Knowles Surname
DNA Project increase participation via your contribution. |
